Mini Kimono – Soujun

This is the final result of the forth kimono I posted earlier. I named it Soujun, which means Early Spring.

The wood types on this piece are Walnut as a background, and bleached Bird’s Eye Maple for the bulk of the kimono. The little flowers are from dyed Maple, the leaves are Walnut, and the branches are Cherrywood.

I had originally planned to make these wall hangings but I really like how these pieces look on the little easels I photographed them on. I will not be putting hanging hardware on them unless it is specifically requested.

The final dimensions on the piece is about 5 3/4″ x 5 3/4″.
